ALL Accor+ Explorer: Is the New Program Worth It?

From 1 October 2025, Accor Plus - one of the most popular hotel membership programs in Asia Pacific - is being rebranded and restructured into ALL Accor+ Explorer.
The update brings new benefits, but also removes or changes some of the perks that long-time members considered the heart of the program. Here’s a breakdown of what’s changed, what hasn’t, and what it means for frequent travellers and loyal diners alike.
What Changed?
1. Stay Plus Night
Old: One complimentary night voucher per year, usable as a standalone night.
New: Two Stay Plus vouchers per year, but each requires a minimum 2-night booking (one paid night + one free). Only one voucher can be applied per stay.
For many members, the appeal of the “free night” was in its flexibility - perfect for a quick staycation or breaking up a longer trip. The new model still gives value but requires a larger spend.
2. Dining Discount
Old: Up to 50% off dining, especially valuable for couples and families.
New: A tiered system:
30% off food + 15% off drinks for up to 10 diners
10% off food + drinks for 11–20 diners
No discount for 21+ diners
This has hit loyal diners hard. For many, the dining benefit was the single biggest reason to hold a membership, and its removal feels like a step back.
3. Hotel Discount
Old: 10% off stays in Asia Pacific, stackable with Member Rates or promos.
New: 15% off worldwide, but not stackable with Member Rates or other promotions.
On paper, the shift looks like a win - a bigger discount across more regions. But the “non-stackable” clause means the savings may not always outpace public promos.
4. Status Nights Boost
Old: 20 bonus status nights on renewal.
New: 30 bonus status nights, plus complimentary ALL Gold status.
This will appeal to travellers chasing or maintaining higher ALL tiers (Platinum, Diamond) as it can unlock special perks like upgrades, late check out and lounge access at select locations.
Why Some Members Are Frustrated
Many long-time members feel the new model removes the headline perks that made Accor Plus stand out:
The single-night free stay now demands more spend.
The removal of the 50% dining perk is particularly painful for members who rarely booked hotels but dined often.
Larger groups (21+ diners) lose out completely.
The perception is that the program is pivoting away from loyal, local diners and staycationers, and more towards frequent travellers.
The Points World Perspective
For our team at The Points World, the changes don’t hit as hard. We rarely dined at Accor restaurants - partly because it was tricky to keep track of where the benefit applied - so the dining discount wasn’t a major factor.
The 2-night Stay Plus rule does, however, reduce the flexibility of the membership for spontaneous staycations. We’ll only be renewing if we know we have an Accor stay coming up or when they are offering special deals like discounts or bonus points. In other words, for us Accor+ is no longer an automatic renewal - it’s a tool to be used strategically.
So, Is It Still Worth It?
It depends on your travel and dining patterns:
Great for: Travellers who book multiple Accor stays each year, value status nights, and can make use of the global 15% discount.
Less valuable for: Locals who joined mainly for the dining perks or relied on the single-night Stay Plus.
Final Thoughts
Loyalty programs evolve, and sometimes that means shifting focus away from long-term members who’ve been using them a certain way. While ALL Accor+ Explorer may open doors for travellers booking across the globe, it undeniably removes value for those who loved the dining discounts and flexible free nights.
At The Points World, we’ll be watching closely to see how members adapt - and whether Accor responds to feedback.
